Master Bedroom – Romantic Modern Farmhouse Design. When it came time to design our master bedroom, I really wanted to create a serine and romantic environment.  I told my husband; I want a chandelier and a barn door.  He did not get it.  He kept saying, “are you sure”.  When I told my builder he was not as surprised as my husband.  Now they both tried to talk me out of the chandelier, but I stuck to my guns, and I am so glad that I did.  I am 100% in love with this space.   It is our oasis at the end of a long day.  We both enjoy this serine and peaceful space.

Master Bedroom – Romantic Modern Farmhouse Design

I was inspired by a combination of ideas for the master bedroom design to create a romantic modern farmhouse design.  I wanted to keep it clean and simple.  I love when I stay at hotels, and they have crisp down comforters so that was a form of my inspiration.  I wanted the chandelier and the barn door as I mentioned and then I wanted to create a romantic feel to the room.  I used a nod to our “love story” for that.  Mr. and Mrs. pillows on the bed were the perfect touch.  I found the “Love Never Fails” artwork at hobby lobby.  This was the bible verse that was read at our wedding.  When we see that daily it is a reminder of our love story.

I decided to splurge on plantation shutters, and I am so glad I did.  I absolutely love them.  There is no need for curtains when you have plantation shutters. They are easy to clean and keep the light out for sleeping.

The showstopper in the room is the chandelier in my opinion.  I chose the Quoizel Brightwaters Brushed Nickel Chandelier Lighting.  It is measures 26 inches wide, 33 inches tall and extends 26 inches. It is the perfect size and I have received so many compliments on it.  My sweet hubby ate his words because he LOVES it and the combination of the barn door and chandelier. He keeps saying “I get your vision now”.  I am so glad I pushed forward with my idea because I am in love with it too.

We purchased the barn door at Lowe’s. It is the ReliaBilt Z-Frame Soft Close Pine Barn Interior Door.  My painter finished it at the house.  It is the perfect door for my bathroom.  I love the look and it is so functional.  If you are concerned about privacy, I don’t find any issue.  Also, we have a small water closet so you can even leave the barn door open when using the toilet.  I found the other piece of artwork – “I have found the one whom my soul loves” at Hobby Lobby too!  It was an affordable splash of color that I thought really fit the theme of the room.
