The Summit in Cincinnati
The Summit – A Contemporary Delight in Cincinnati. We recently had the opportunity to stay at the The Summit – A Dolce Hotel. First of all, my 13 year old son LOVED it and we did too but when you impress a 13 year old you know you did good. The hotel has a modern design and it really speaks to high class but at an affordable price. They didn’t skip a detail when they designed the space.
Now that we live in Berea, KY we often find ourselves traveling to the Cincinnati area. The hotel is located just a few minutes north of the Ohio River on the Medpace campus in Madisonville, a Cincinnati neighborhood. It is a fantastic location if you are coming to the area for business, pleasure or even in our case prior to taking a flight at the CVG airport.
Designed to engage and inspire guests, The Summit promises an artistic journey from every day to extraordinary. And that it did. Even when pulling up outside my sons response was “this is a cool hotel”. When we walked inside the lobby he was extremely vocal (again not normal for a 13 year old) about his excitement for the design. From the contemporary works of art to chef-curated dining experiences, The Summit will kick your creativity into high gear.
In particular we loved all of the atrium and public sitting spaces. If you are visiting with a large group or meeting with friends while in town this hotel, has you covered. They offer complimentary self parking which was nice. The Summit also welcomes your four-legged friend under 50 pounds. A non-refundable $50 fee applies. Pets must be declared upon check-in and the pet agreement must be turned into the front desk. Though we didn’t bring our fur-babies that is something for us to consider for next time.
There is so much to see and do at The Summit. Whether you’re exploring their collection of specially commissioned contemporary art, choosing a book from their well-stocked library, playing a game of pool, working out in their state-of-the-art facility or sampling a flight of local beers at the Overlook Kitchen + Bar, inspiration comes naturally here. This was a place that really inspired me.
All of the guest rooms and suites are contemporary retreats that are packed with all the high-tech essentials you need for work. The beds were comfy, the rooms were clean, and they featured beautiful views. Some in-room amenities included: complimentary Wi-Fi, Keurig coffee/tea maker, Mini-refrigerator, 55-inch LED TV, Walk-in shower with rain shower head, Numeris by Digilock drawer safe and Microfiber bathrobes.
My son flipped out over the gym and my personal favorite was the yoga studio. We really enjoyed using both after a day of travel. It felt great to exercise and enjoy winding down after our weekend and before we caught our flight. In addition, there is no need to leave the hotel for dining. The Hotel features a variety of healthy and delicious options. They even have gluten free!
Our only regret on this trip is that it was a short one. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Summit and can’t wait to come back again for a longer stay. If you are visiting the Cincinnati area, we highly recommend The Summit.

Loving this contemporary design. I enjoy staying at places like this when traveling. Pet friendly? Although we don’t travel much with our beloved doggy, it’s nice to know hotel policies on pets beforehand.
