How To Make Homemade Powder Laundry Detergent
Homemade Powder Laundry Detergent is a great way to save money. I love making my own Laundry Detergent. It is so simple and good for your washing machine and clothes. I prefer to use powder detergent but have made liquid detergent before too. I will also do a post for liquid too 🙂 This recipe makes 40 loads and works in my opinion better than store bought. My clothes clean well and I have been using it for a long time with much success. I use it on my husbands work clothes and kids clothes and it lifts stains like store bought detergent. I do use stain remover like I do with store bought detergent as well.
You only need 3 ingredients to make this! Yes only 3 things ~ Borax, Arm & Hammer Washing Soda and a Fels Naptha Bar.
How To Make Homemade Powder Laundry Detergent:
Put the Fels Naptha Bar in a food processor (or blender) and blend into a powder. Mix with 1 cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda and 1/2 cup Borax. All you need is 2 Tablespoons per load.
This recipe makes 40 loads.

How much does it make? How many loads?
It makes 40 loads and works really well.
Could you use a food processor instead of a blender for the Fels Naptha?
Yes, you sure can.
Does this work well in HE washing machines? If so, would I still use the same amount?
Can u add essential oils to give it a certain fragrance?
I think I’m doing something wrong because this is not going to last for 40 loads for me. Is it 2 tablespoons per load? Are there different sizes of the fels napa bar? Thank you!
