Frisch’s Pumpkin Pie is the perfect fall treat! Frisch’s Pumpkin Pie is our family favorite every single fall!  We mourn the loss when it goes away after Christmas.  This is exactly why I jumped at the chance to visit the Frisch’s Commissary when they sent me the invite to learn more about Frisch’s Pumpkin Pie.  I spent the day with some of my favorite local bloggers and saw the food operations of our family “go to” restaurant.

I was amazed that Frisch’s makes roughly 80% of their own products.  They prepare their own dressings, soups, grind their own meats, slice their own onions, and freshly make so many of their menu items.  Every store gets their deliveries from the commissary and the number of deliveries is based on sales per week.  I was amazed to find out that all food is delivered by Frisch’s trucks and drivers.

The thing that interested me the most is the Pumpkin Pie process.  Frisch’s has closely guarded their recipe for over 50 years.  I learned they make their pies with the best available, highest quality ingredients, and do not use any fillers.  I did not know that pies of lower quality are often mixed with squash and are not 100% pumpkin. Their handmade pastry crust and 100% pure pumpkin pies are prepared in their climate-controlled bakery.  These pumpkin pies are baked in small batches daily, to ensure quality and freshness. They are never frozen!

Frisch’s pumpkin pie is one of the most popular pies sold.  Over 160,000 whole pies and more than 900,000 slices are served per year.  I am happy to say I am in that number quite a few times! You can pick up one of these amazing whole pies or by the slice at any Frisch’s.
