Steak Tacos

Steak Tacos is one of our favorite new recipes. My son is 18 and he asked me to make him some steak tacos. I created this recipe, and it quickly became a family favorite.

Steak Tacos

I like to use ribeye, or a tenderloin cut of steak. It is really important when you are cooking steak that you let it rest with salt on it so that it is juicy. Allow it to come to room temperature for one hour! This makes a HUGE difference.

I cut my steak into strips after it was room temp and placed them into a lightly greased skillet. I added onion powder, garlic and McCormick Montreal seasoning. They were so flavorful and tender.

I heated up my tortillas for a few minutes in a medium heat skillet and then added the steak to them. Finally, I garnished with lettuce, tomato, sour cream and cilantro. I served with a lettuce salad and refried beans. My family loved these!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. steak, ribeye or tenderloin
  • 1 whole tomato
  • 1 package tortillas, I use corn
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • 1 container sour cream
  • 1 package shredded lettuce
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Montreal seasoning, McCormick

Instructions

  • I heated up my tortillas for a few minutes in a medium heat skillet and then added the steak to them.
  • Finally, I garnished with lettuce, tomato, sour cream and cilantro. I served with a lettuce salad and refried beans. My family loved these!
