Candida Yeast Overgrowth Detox

Want to learn more about Candida Yeast Overgrowth? I lost 35 lbs and have never felt better in my life after this cleanse!

Candida Yeast Overgrowth Detox – I have been asked by several readers and friends to post more on the Candida Yeast Overgrowth Detox that I did. First of all, I want to start by saying that I suggest you always consult a Dr. before doing a cleanse, I am not a Dr, and I am NOT providing medical advice.

I am sharing with you my real-life experience. I met with my Dr., and she approved the cleanse and actually highly encourages me to repeat it! She said to think back to our past in regard to “refined carbohydrates” and how they didn’t exist.  She told me that we don’t need them to live a healthy life.  With that being said you should do what you feel comfortable with and what will help your body.

If you are unsure about the symptoms of Candida Yeast Overgrowth, I suggest reading this post I wrote. It lists all the symptoms.  I took an evaluation and tested very high with Candida.  I was also showing many of the symptoms, so I had a general idea that I had Candida as well.

Candida Yeast Overgrowth Detox:

My cleanse was a 36-day program.  I started off by eliminating all nuts, fruit (until day 20) caffeine, processed foods, dairy and carbohydrates from my diet.  The only thing I drank was water.  I had a limited list of vegetables, eggs, meat (no beef) and healthy fats that my diet consisted of.  I also took a lot of supplements and could do meal replacement shakes in addition to the approved list.  I was on a 1,000-calorie diet.  I am going to tell you that the first 5 days of my detox was not fun.  I had a serious caffeine headache and very little energy.  On day 2 I didn’t think I was going to make it however I had a dedicated support system that helped me get over the hump.  However, by day 6 things started getting better.  I could tell each time it got rough that my body was “killing off” and eliminating the candida.

Twice during the 36-week program I did a liquid fast.  The first time for 5 days and second for 3.  The liquid fast consisted of an organic fresh squeezed lemon juice, natural maple syrup and distilled water mix.  I personally thought there was NO WAY I would be able to do the liquid fast, but I have to say that I did really well.  Not that it was “easy”, but I never got “shaky” or “fatigued”.  I actually had more energy.  During both fasts what I missed most was chewing so my mom gave me the idea to eat crushed ice and that really helped.  The other part that I missed was eating dinner with my family.  However, they were very supportive and didn’t entice me with food and understood that I didn’t want to sit at the table and watch them eat.

During both of my fasts I did experience symptoms that the candida was leaving my body.  Both times in the form of excess mucus leaving through my sinus’s.  I know this may seem like too much information, but I had suffered with chronic sinus infections prior too doing the cleanse and I truly believe it was the Candida Yeast Overgrowth that was my true problem as antibiotics never really gave me permanent relief.

By day 36 my stomach had shrunk, my skin looked great, I had a high energy level and was a new person.  I was in the fat burning mode and had lost 20 pounds.  I was not at my goal weight, so I decided to repeat the process.  I did not liquid fast for the suggested 8 days on the second round and did not eliminate fruit.  I did a 3 followed by a 2-day liquid fast instead.  This worked well for me.  I lost an additional 15 pounds.  After the 2nd cleanse I have continued a restricted diet of little to no refined carbohydrates, processed foods, nuts or dairy.  I am able to eat red meat in moderation, whole grains in moderation and fruit.  I do not drink caffeine and avoid fast and processed foods.  I only drink water.  By doing this I am able to maintain my weight and the candida has not returned.

In addition to the detox, I did exercise 3-5 days a week.  I lost from a size 1X top to a medium and went from a size 16W to a size 10!  It has been the most amazing thing I have ever done for myself!

UPDATE:  I am sorry that I am unable to share the plan in detail because it is a trademarked document however I did write this post that may be helpful.  It includes the food lists that I ate during the plan with a little more detail – Detox Plan.

  1. Good for you making it through! A lot of us have Candida problems and don’t do anything about it. I have used Candida Clear from Nature’s Sunshine and it works great. Not as hard core as the liquid diet but it works!

  2. Where did you find your diet from? Was it a free guide or you have to pay for it? I’m already GF but I think Candida has something to do with it too.

      1. Melissa Where do you get the diet?? I know you purchased it but what in the link to purchase… Thank you so much for sharing your story!! I have read it now 3 times and told a friend… We are wanting to do this togther… Thanks for your time

        1. I paid for it through a holistic practitioner and it is a trademarked document or I would be more than happy to share it in full online.

  3. I am very proud of your determination and will power to follow through with this program. I am very happy you feel better as result. ~Mom

  4. Thank you for posting this. I just started my Candida diet yesterday after going undiagnosed for almost 2 years! I know it will be rough, but I have actually done lengthy low-carb diets in the past, so I’m confident that I can make it through. 🙂

  5. Hi Melissa – I’m so glad you shared this. I had horrible Candida issues that were in the form of life threatening food allergies. I avoided fruit, sugar, carbs (except rice), yeast, vinegar, and other foods. And took supplements recommended by a holistic doctor. I also lost a ton of weight but I’ve gained it back. I was able to get over all of my food allergies after a year. Are you able to eat gluten now?

  6. Just wondering about the maple syrup in the liquid fast. I was reading and article about Candida Yeast Overgrowth, and it says you need to eliminate ALL sugar from your diet as that is what feeds the yeast. So how does the maple syrup fit in? Is all natural maple syrup sugar free?

  7. I am so interested to try the candida yeast detox, however on your outline of what to eat (& not to eat), what is the “food list”? Is that everything but the fruit? & so on?
And just to confirm, no spices at all? what about salt or pepper? how about herbs?

  8. Melissa, I am so happy to stumble across this article. I have battled yeast infections (every month) for 19 years, with the exception of my two pregnancies. No OBGYN ever tried to fine a solution for me. They treated my symptoms with dyflucan for years and years. I had a yearly prescription. Last year, 2015, I went to a new doctor and she put me on a lower dosage of dyflucan once per week for 6 months. I actually stopped taking it about 3 months in for 2 weeks and my infection returned. No one has ever tested me for anything and through my research, I have concluded that I have candida overgrowth on my own.

I want to follow this plan. I am curious if you ever posted any recipes to follow?

  9. Can you tell me what shakes you used? Also, did you do a shake a day during the (master cleanse)?
