Why you should stay at Camp Cedar

Today I am sharing with you Why you should stay at Camp Cedar. If you are planning a trip to Kings Island and you are not within driving distance THIS is the place to stay!

Why you should stay at Camp Cedar:

Conveniently located just one mile from Kings Island Amusement Park in Deerfield Township near Mason, Ohio, Camp Cedar is a place where families can refresh, reconnect, and escape the grid, without forgoing life’s luxuries. You can enjoy an urban camping experience with thrilling activities at the park.

We loved the modern and comfortable accommodations that the cottages provided. The boys were really impressed with the design. They all said they could easily live here! That is saying a lot coming from a teen. They also offer spacious RV campsites and amenities.

After a long day of thrilling rides in the park often times the last thing, you want to do is drive home. With Camp Cedar now you don’t have to! Settle into one of Camp Cedar’s 73 cottages, which accommodate up to four to eight guests. The brand-new cozy cottages offer spacious living areas, eat-in kitchens and flat screen TVs and include all of the comforts of home. The best news is that over the next two years, Camp Cedar plans to add 100 more cottages.

Camp Cedar has not spared any design elements in its beautifully appointed cottages. There are four styles that incorporates modern aesthetics and amenities to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. You can easily bring the entire family and more to stay at The Hickory, which accommodates up to eight people. It features include a private queen bedroom, recessed bunk bed and a spacious sleeping loft.

I loved that they incorporated farmhouse design elements, the Hickory offers a spacious living area with vaulted ceilings, comfortable seating and a large flat-screen TV. The eat-in kitchen includes a full suite of modern appliances. The Aspen cottage also accommodates up to eight people. Feel right at home with the galley kitchen, master bedroom, sleeping loft and spacious bathroom and shower. This is the one we stayed in and is pictured in this review.

If you’re the RV-ing type, Camp Cedar’s full-service RV sites mean you’ll be far from roughing it. All of the RV sites have a grill and picnic table for family gatherings after a day at Kings Island. Most have a firepit, so bring the ingredients for s’mores. Four-legged family members are welcome at the RV park, too (but not at the cottages).

Check into your cottage or RV spot at Hornbeam Lodge, the heart of the resort. The lodge houses Ironwood Grill & Tap restaurant, a cozy coffee/gelato shop and the Coyote Creek Camp Store that stocks just about all the essentials you’ll need. This is a great place to visit with friends or curl up with a book around the expansive fireplace. Next time, I will be sure to spend more time looking around.

One of the biggest perks of staying at Camp Cedar is being one of the first people inside Kings Island. Take advantage of early admission and ride some of the biggest attractions before the general public enters the park.  There’s also Soak City Water Park where you can cool off with over 50 water activities.

We really enjoyed the free shuttle to the park. This was fantastic not only because we saved money in parking, but we were conveniently dropped off in front of the park with only a minute to walk. This was a great perk yet for staying at Camp Cedar, along with discounted admission to the park and free parking at Camp Cedar.
