How to Season your Beef for Spaghetti so that it tastes amazing and not bland.

How to Season your Beef for Spaghetti:

For my seasoned beef I like to add salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, chopped onion and minced garlic. I brown the ground beef, minced garlic and onion. Drain off any excess fat, then add the seasonings. Making sure to mix the beef well with the seasonings. Next all you have to do is combine the meat with your sauce and heat thoroughly. Serve over pasta.

If you are using 1 lb. of beef, then I would suggest the following ratio however it is really up to your taste preference.

    • 1 tsp minced garlic (you can use 1/2 tsp dry)
    • 1/4 cup minced onion (you can use 1 tsp dry)
    • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1/8 tsp pepper

  2. Hi there! I’ve personally found that seasoning the meat BEFORE cooking (even if just S&P) heightens the flavor immensely beyond adding it after browning. I put my pound of meat in a bowl, sprinkle my seasonings, and squish with my hands (wearing nitrile gloves, of course). Be yourself, and do what works for you, but I figure, why not experiment?

  3. Thanks for the great tips for seasoning meat. Spaghetti is great, but the meat definitively has to be done right for me to enjoy it. Using minced garlic and chopped onions really sounds great! My mouth is watering.

  4. I made this with the seasonings put in while it is cooking and it tasted wonderful. The meat tasted bland when I did it last time even though I had good spaghetti sauce. That is what made me look into your recipe. Thank you for sharing.
