How to Navigate 30A

I am sharing tips and strategies with you on How to Navigate 30A. If you are looking for a perfect beach vacation you have to consider a trip to 30A.

How to Navigate 30A:

We fell in love with the beauty and tranquility of 30A the first time we visited. Located in the Panhandle of Florida, 30A is a continual stretch of small towns located along the scenic 30A Highway in Santa Rosa Beach.

Each of the picturesque towns has its own unique vibe. They all share gorgeous white sugar sand beaches and calm turquoise waters. If you haven’t been you are truly missing out.

There are no chain dining on 30A but rather a unique mixture of restaurants and bars from casual to fine dining. There are a few independent hotels but mostly you will find private vacation homes, condos and townhomes.

In general, most of the homes are located off the beach front but within walking distance or a short drive to the beach. There are many gated communities with neighborhood pools. Some houses have individual pools too. Pricing for rentals will vary based on the age of the rental and proximity to the beach.

Actual beachfront homes are harder to come by and quite expensive to rent. So finding something within a few minutes walk to the beach may help you with your budget.

Rentals on 30A often book up quickly depending on the proximity to the beach. I would suggest booking in November/December for the following summer at a minimum. Many book a year in advance.

Each town has its own vibe and I suggest traveling down 30A and deciding which one is a best suited for your family. We personally like to stay on the West End nearest Gulf Place but I have heard amazing things about WaterSound and WaterColor too!

Also, it is important to know that 30A is not dog friendly unless you are a resident. You must obtain a permit to have your dog on the beach and it is restricted to be on leash and specific times of the day. They fine for dogs without the permit so know that when planning with your pets.

Some of the cities have parking, beach and golf cart restrictions so when planning be sure to educate yourself.

We visited the beach at Blue Mountain, Seagrove and Rosemary Beach. I do find that it is not as crowded or busy around Gulf Place and Rosemary as it is around Seaside. Plus parking is $15-$30 at Seaside which is a bummer. I personally avoid Grayton Beach because they allow residents with permits to drive on the beach.

Whatever area you choose I am sure you will fall in love with 30A just like we have.

This is my personal opinion and I hope it helps you in planning for your next trip to 30A.
