Check out these Frugal Weight Loss Tips. My New Year’s Resolution is to lose an additional 20 pounds in 2011. I am happy with my weight loss of 3 pounds this week. Are you on the journey to a healthier weight? I am not using the phrase “diet’ because diets don’t work. Instead in 2010 I decided to make a major lifestyle change. I eliminated all beverages except water, removed fast food from my life and try to eat healthy portions and by doing so with exercise I dropped 35 pounds.

I wanted to share with you some tips for healthy weight loss.
1. Increase your protein.
2. Drink at least 2 liters of water daily
3. Eat 5 smaller meals a day.
By eating a 1200 – 1500 calorie meal plan and filling 50% plate with veggies, 25% with protein and 25% with whole grains you will start feeling better and lose weight. One suggestion is to consume you largest meal of the day at breakfast with a medium sized lunch and small dinner. By adding in 2 snacks you will really be able to see the difference in your waistline. I made the change to eating my largest meal of the day for breakfast and not only do I feel better but I have the energy I need to exercise and feel better all day.
When it comes to eating healthy many people think that you have to spend a fortune however you can eat healthy and not break the budget My tips include shopping for fruits and veggies that are on sale, look for clearance and managers specials and freeze to extend the shelf life. I also utilize overage to pick up fruits and veggies for free! Though there are not tons of fruit coupons available they do come along. Also be on the lookout for peelies and coupons at the store! I have found them but you have to keep your eyes on the lookout when you shop.

Breakfast is the biggest challenge for me. I know it is the most important meal of the day and that is where I will start – that and having healthier snacks around. I could sure use more fruits and veggies.

I love a big breakfast, my biggest problem is not drinking enough water. I have to remember to drink it rather than it being second nature.
My biggest health challenge use to be avoiding foods high in fat especially saturated and trans and greasy foods to keep from having gall bladder attacks. But since I’ve had my gb removed I don’t have to worry about that problem. But the most important thing I took from this experience of going through so much pain is that God wants me to eat healthier. So now although I DON”T have to, I still choose healthier foods.
