Can You Freeze a Banana?
So what’s the best method for freezing a banana? There are several different ways to do it but my preferred way is to peel the banana, cut it into slices, and put the slices in freezer bags/freezer safe containers. I normally use a frozen banana for a fruit smoothie, banana bread or banana pudding. So having them sliced is better for me.
For best results if you plan to eat your banana whole freeze before it is over ripe by peeling and wrapping with saran wrap. If you are going to use it for a smoothie or banana bread you can freeze it even after the banana is over ripe. It is a great way to stretch your dollar! I like to pick up bananas on managers special and bring them home to freeze.

I love freezing bananas at first I would freeze them whole then I did not like the peeling process very painful!. Now I slice them and pu them in a freezer bag and just take out what I need for my smoothie.
I have froze whole on the peel and they were so mushy after that I said the heck with it…I will try the slicing method next time! Thanks!
I have froze whole bananas and the peel turns brown and the banana becomes almost a liquid! Works great for banana bread, but not to be eaten! I did read that if you peel them and then wrap them whole in ceran wrap they will keep better!
