Check out this $1.00 off Mother’s Day Card from Cardstore. It is almost my favorite day of the year…..yep Mother’s Day! It is seriously a National Holiday in my house. My son and husband take me to brunch every year on Mother’s Day and shower me with lots of love (and a few gifts too). It is the one day of the year that I take “OFF”. Hard to believe huh? Considering we work 365 days a year on the blog and 365 days a year as Mom – it feels nice to take “1 day off” a year 🙂

My Mom loves personalized greeting cards (and so do I). They are really special to receive. Cardstore.com allows you to create custom cards by adding personal photos, personalized messaging and your signature.  In fact, I made one for my mom for Mother’s Day (hope you aren’t reading this mom).  I chose our Family Picture from Easter with my mom, her children and grandchildren.

Then, Cardstore will print, stamp and send the card for you! Wow! You can’t get easier than that! For only the cost of postage they will mail the card for you, and you can set the date you want it to arrive.

Being a mother is the toughest job that I have ever had.  It is also the most rewarding.  As you know being a mother didn’t come easy for me.  After years of struggles we finally found our son through the journey of International Adoption.  I think because of our struggle it makes me appreciate being Mother even more.  In addition, it makes me appreciate my mom even more.  As you know I recently survived open heart surgery #2 and my mom was there with me every step of the way.  She is the best Mom in the world and because of her I am the mom that I am today.

Recently, American Greetings created a job posting for a company, Rethom Inc. (“Mother” spelled backwards), based on everything moms do under the title “Director of Operations” and placed it across 27 markets through job postings, 14 market newspaper classified ads and 2 Google sponsored ad units, resulting in 2.7MM impressions. The job description outlined all of the tasks of a mother without revealing the job was indeed an mom. In the end, Cardstore only had 24 inquiries – proving that being a mom is the world’s toughest (but most rewarding) job in the world.

Then they turned it into a “secret camera” kind of video and I have to tell you that it is seriously the best Video I have ever watched. I laughed and I cried. A winner! It REALLY put into perspective the appreciation that we need to have for our Mother’s.  Of course being a Mom myself REALLY makes me appreciate my Mom more!

Are you interested in telling American Greetings what they missed in the World’s Toughest Job description list? Then head over to Cardstore.com and discuss what you think they left out and what they included.

What do you wish for your Mother’s Day?  Do you dream of a day off too?  I can’t wait to hear what you thought of the video!
