First Day of School Ritual
First Day of School Ritual – Making Pancakes Special & First Day Photos. We have a first day of school ritual. We always have pancakes and bacon for a great start of the year. Normally I make Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes however this year I am starting a new tradition of the “P” pancake. I have to say that I first made the “P” pancake for my son this year on his family day (the day we celebrate his adoption finalization) and it was a HUGE hit. So much in fact that he requested the “P” pancake on the first day of school!
In addition to our pancakes and bacon ritual we always go outside and stand on the front porch and my son holds a sign with the school’s name and year on it. This has been a tradition since preschool and then I frame the picture and replace yearly. I plan to do something with all of the photos when my son graduates from high school. What are you back to school rituals?
