Bardstown Bourbon Company Distillery
We kicked off our Kentucky Bourbon Trail trip with the Bardstown Bourbon Company Distillery Tour. Located in the heart of the Bourbon Capital of the World, this is tour not to miss.
Bardstown Bourbon Company Distillery Tour:
We chose the Rick House Barrel Thieving Tour, and it was awesome! We visited a rick house and thieved three bourbons directly from the barrel. If that isn’t a great way to kick off a trip to Bourbon Country, I don’t know what is!
At this distillery they produce over 50 different mash bills, otherwise known as recipes, across the entire whiskey spectrum. They have distilled for some of the best whiskey brands in the world. We found this experience to be state of the art! I highly recommend this tour.
While in the rick house we tasted three bourbons/whiskeys straight from the barrel and then we went into the tasting room and enjoyed a Fusion Series Bourbon. The cost was $30 per person at time of the booking, and we did get to keep our tasting glass which is a really nice touch.
After our tour we enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Bardstown Bourbon Company! I highly recommend it! The menu was nice! It included both Kentucky classics and everything we ate was delicious. They source locally, calling out the farmers right on the menu, and make everything in house. It was a Modern Kentucky Experience. We timed our distillery tour at noon and then enjoyed lunch at 1:15 pm. It was perfect!
I had the bourbon braised short rib and chocolate pots de creme which were both gluten free and absolutely delicious. I 10/10 recommend!
