21st Birthday at Disney World

There is no place better to spend a 21st Birthday than at Disney World. In May we flew to Orlando to spend a few days with my girl as she was turning 21! It was the perfect place to spend a monumental birthday because of all of the built-in opportunities for the occasion!

21st Birthday at Disney World:

Upon arrival I showered the birthday girl with presents. I opted for something special that she could remember the occasion with and splurged on the Scentsy Cinderella Carriage Warmer. It was beautiful. I also made two scrapbooks (one Disney themed and the other birth-twenty-one). Those were a true labor of love.

Of course, a 21st birthday isn’t complete without some shot glasses, gummy bears and “21” balloons. I picked those up at home and traveled with my gifts.

That night it was getting late, but we were able to eat a really nice dinner at Trattoria al Forno at Disney’s Boardwalk and visit the boardwalk. That is a great first night activity on a travel day.

Our first park day was spent at Disney Hollywood Studios. This was a fun day, and we were able to ride everything we wanted using the Disney World Genie+ Made Easy. If you have someone who is turning 21, I highly recommend a stop at Disney Oga’s Cantina.

We ate a late lunch at The Hollywood Brown Derby, and it was amazing! We highly recommend. You can check out our full review.

If you are staying on property with the birthday girl/guy, I would suggest decorating your window/door at your resort. Our birthday girl wasn’t staying with us because she lives in Orlando, but I did take this picture to share. You don’t have to spend a lot of money and it is another fun way to celebrate.

Also, be sure to pick up your pin from Guest Relations when you enter the park that says, “Happy Birthday”.  That is another fun and free way to celebrate on property! Plus, you never know if you will get some Disney magic as a result.

We chose to splurge and eat at Be Our Guest for lunch. It was the perfect location for a special occasion or celebration. They even gave her birthday card and special dessert! I brought the candles and snuck those to the waiter, and he lit them for me before we sang.

I would suggest you purchase a birthday shirt, sash and tiara. It is an inexpensive way to celebrate your special day!

Often times you get a free cupcake when you have a sit-down reservation. At Be Our Guest she got “grey stuff” in a “21” with sprinkles in addition to her desserts that came with our meal.
