What is retail therapy?
What is retail therapy? I personally think that Retail Therapy works wonders. There are times when I am down and going shopping really gives me a boost! It always helps my mood. I really love to match a coupon to a good sale and that actually makes my retail therapy last longer 🙂
According to Wikipedia, it is shopping with the primary purpose of improving the buyer’s mood or disposition. Often seen in people during periods of depression or transition, it is normally a short-lived habit. Items purchased during periods of retail therapy are sometimes referred to as “comfort buys”.
So, when my son and I need a little pick me up, we head to the store! It is great way to boost our spirits and turn our frown upside down.
Two years ago, I went to Dillard’s for some retail therapy in January. I picked up several pairs of Ugg’s for less than half price! Now every time I wear them it reminds me of my day of fun and they bring a huge smile to my face. Knowing I didn’t pay full price really sweetened the deal for me. It really isn’t as short lived 😉
