Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies:

Starting with a cake mix is always an easy way to make cookies too!  I often stock up on cake mixes when they are on sale!  This cookie mix is so easy and tastes delicious!  It would be the perfect addition to a Valentine’s Day party or just to make for your sweethearts

If you can’t find a red velvet cake mix you can use a chocolate cake mix and add red food coloring. this would be a great way to have a gluten free cookie option! I hope you enjoy how moist and delicious these cookies are. No one will ever know that they are made from a cake mix! It is a great shortcut method when you are short on time. Also, affordable too as you can often find cake mixes on sale matched with a coup.

Ingredients

  • 1 box Red Velvet cake mix
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup powder sugar optional

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 350.
  • Mix together cake mix, oil, water and egg.
  • Roll dough into 1 inch balls.
  • If desired roll dough balls in powder sugar.
  • Place on ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake 8-10 minutes.
  • Cool on cookie rack and then serve.

Notes

You can use sugar in place of powdered sugar if desired.
