Tips for Removing Pet Hair From Drains

Tips for removing pet hair from drains. As you know we love our dogs. In fact, we treat them just like family at our homes. Shelley’s dog Tango is always getting into trouble. In fact, recently he decided to dig up part of her yard. When he did Caleb was so excited because he thought they were going to get a swimming pool out of it!

Shelley didn’t find it as entertaining as Caleb did. Luckily, she was able to give him a bath and clean him up quickly but after she did, she was concerned that her bathtub might become clogged. She used Liquid-Plumr to help destroy and prevent clogs. It works great especially when the clog culprit is pet hair.

One tip that she suggested is trying to remove as much loose dirt before placing your pet into the bath. When you add water and dirt you will quickly get mud, so she finds that removing any clumps of dirt from his fur is helpful.

Another tip is to close the shower curtain after you drain the tub so that your dog with “shake off” the excess water in the tub and not all over your bathroom. She uses old towels and a bed comforter to help collect that water and provide a soft padding for Tango when he gets out of the tub. She keeps those in a separate tub in an upstairs closet, so they are ready when she needs them.

After washing Tango, she uses Liquid-Plumr as a preventative measure to get ahead of and destroy any pet hair clogs that come from bath time. When possible always brush your dog before bath time to help remove any excess hair and mats that may have formed. This is better than washing your dog with that loose hair in tact.

Liquid-Plumr recently partnered with Denver the Guilty Dog to help her get out of her latest mess. Check out the video here. This is a great way to give back. For every view or share of Denver’s video, Liquid-Plumr will donate $1 to The Grey Muzzle Organization and to Animal Haven up to $10,000 each, in order to help find homes for animals everywhere.

When you use Liquid-Plumr be sure that pets are completely out of the tub and away from the product at all times. Shelley always locks the bathroom door just to be safe and keep it off limits to her children and Tango.
