The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley
You must visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to walk around Diagon Alley™ or visit Gringotts Bank? You can do it all at Universal Studios Florida®.
Walking down the streets of London to Diagon Alley was simply amazing! The attention to detail was astonishing and made everyone want to follow the footsteps of Harry! The boys were so excited to choose a wand at Ollivanders™ wand shop. We chose the interactive wands because we wanted to see the magic happen! Each wand came with a detailed map to clues around the city streets.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley:
Shopping in Diagon Alley can be quite expensive but we found the wands to be well worth our money. We spent a lot of the time roaming the streets looking for the clues and casting spells. All the stores are worth a look for sure. Don’t forget to stop by Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes and pick up your Chocolate Frog or other magical surprises. Whether you need a new robe, equipment for Quidditch™, or a creature Diagon Alley is the place to be. Our advice is to set your spending budget before you go!
If you are feeling thirsty you can stop in for a Butterbeer. You can also pick these beverages up frozen. ButterBeer was not our favorite and we think you have to defiantly have a taste for it. We spoke to many people that were raving about it, so we were shocked we did not like it that much. We chose frozen so next time we would select traditional.
My absolute favorite part of this visit was Gringott’s Bank. I was in awe of the detail of the bank and the goblins that look exactly like the movie. I almost felt like they were alive, working, and at times were annoyed by my presence. Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts was an amazing multidimensional Roller coaster. There is no way you can classify this ride as anything but. You are right in the middle of the action and feel a part of the journey through the dangers of Gringotts vaults.
Because we stayed at the new Cabana Bay Value Resort, we were able to enter The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley one hour early. After leaving Diagon Alley we walked to King’s Cross Station and made our way to platform 9 3/4™. Be prepared to be called a “Muggle” a million times on this trip! The Hogwarts™ Express will take you back and forth between Hogsmeade™ Station located in Universal’s Islands of Adventure® and King’s Cross Station located in Universal. You must have a Park-to-Park admission ticket to ride the train between the parks. We recommend you get in line for the very first train between parks in the morning and make your way to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, so you don’t have a long wait time.
Universal’s main Harry Potter attraction is Gringotts, and Islands of Adventures is Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. You will travel on the Hogwarts Express steam engine in your own interactive passenger car that replicates the car Harry rides in. It was exciting to be sitting in yet another scene of the movie. Be sure you ride the train both ways because there are two different passenger car interactions, and they are different when you are traveling to each park. Keep your eye out for familiar characters from the books and movies!
We made our way to the Castle to ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. The castle was beautifully created and was exciting to enter. Inside the castle you will feel that familiar feeling of being inside the movie. I was very excited about seeing Dumbledore’s office, the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, and the Gryffindor™ common room. Hold on tight and get ready to soar through the sky with your favorite characters for the ride of your life. (Warning: Melissa and I experienced a level of motion sickness on this ride we have never felt before! The boys LOVED it! If you get motion sick at all we do not recommend this ride!)
If you are a Harry Potter fan you are going to LOVE these attractions! Our boys were in awe the entire time we were there! We would highly recommend these attractions to any Harry Potter fan.
Disclosure: We were provided admission to Universal Studios and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley for our review however all opinions are 100% our own.
