I’ve lived in MS my entire life and have never heard of this roast….sounds yummy though. The way my mother always made roast was putting in the crock pot with salt, pepper, sometimes garlic salt, sometimes a cajun seasoning, sometimes powdered onion soup mix, cut up onions and a little bit of butter. Once it’s cooked down she removes the roast and uses the juices to make gravy. Sometimes she leaves the roast as a big chunk of meat, sometimes she shreds it down. Sometimes she’ll toss the meat back in the the gravy and sometimes she’ll leave it dry on the side. It’s one of the most requested meals the family makes…so simple and SO good!
Oh yeah…water too…don’t know WHY I forgot that lol
Just made this tonight. My family loved it! And I loved it because it was ridiculously easy! Thanks for the recipe.
I am usually not pleased with recipes so simple, they typically don’t deliver on taste. THIS RECIPE IS DELICIOUS! I made it for dinner tonight and my picky husband and 2 year old both LOVED it. Thanks for adding a new easy dinner to my repertoire.
Do you brown the roast first?
No, we don’t.
Hi..I’ve got about 6 pounds of roast…will that be too much? And I should I double the recipe?
Yes, you would double the recipe and if you cook that in a 5-6 quart slowcooker you should be fine.
I make roasts in the crock pot often…they come out beautiful!
