How to take Care of your Live Christmas Tree
How to take Care of your Live Christmas Tree is really simple, but you must maintain doing it or your tree will suffer. Most people will tell you that they dislike having a real tree because it will leave pine needles everywhere. Well, this can be the case, but if there is pine needles on the floor then your tree is letting you know that it is not hydrated enough. If you continuously water your tree you should have no problems. Also be sure to turn the lights off and give the tree a resting period because the lights do give off some heat.
How to take Care of your Live Christmas Tree:
My rule of thumb for having the lights on is only when you are home and awake. Most house fires during the Christmas season are cause by dry trees with lights on. When we leave the house are lights are off and when we go to bed we turn them off.
A tip for a healthy tree is to add sugar or 7up to the water. If using sugar add 2-3 Tbsp to 2 cups water and pour in the base every day. If using 7up add 1/4 – 1/2 cup to 1 1/2 cups water and pour in the base. Neither is better than the other so either will work just as good. I use sugar because that is what I have in my home. The sugar helps keep the tree really healthy and last longer.

Hey, Stephanie! Last winter, my Christmas tree didn’t last very long. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to take better care of it this Christmas. I’ll be sure to follow your suggestion of adding a base mixture, so the tree lasts longer. Do you pick out an authentic tree every year with your family?
