Get Connected with OnStar 4G LTE – 2015 Buick LaCrosse Review

Get Connected with OnStar 4G LTE – 2015 Buick LaCrosse Review. If you are like me, you are busy and on the go! As a mom we often feel like we live out of car.  During soccer season I often kid my family and say all we need is a toilet in our van and we would be good to go! The only thing that I am missing in my van is Wi-Fi.  When I think about the countless hours that I spend on the sidelines of the soccer field and how much blogging I could get accomplished during that time, it makes me literally cringe.

Test Driving the 2015 Buick LaCrosse - with OnStar 4G LTE

What if I told you that you could have your cake and eat it too? We actually did for 1 week this fall! We had the opportunity to test drive a 2015 Buick LaCrosse that had OnStar with 4G LTE. What does this mean? Not only did it have OnStar services, but it also had in-vehicle Wi-Fi! Yes, you are reading this correctly. So, what does this mean to you? If you have a vehicle with this service is not only awesome for everyday life it is AMAZING for travel.

I spent 5 days driving the car with my family. We drove it to soccer, back and forth to school, to the grocery store and to run all kinds of errands. What did it mean for my son? He had Wi-Fi and was happy as a lark! He was able to stream movies from his cloud and was no longer complaining about running errands. In fact, he was suggesting errands that we should run. What was wrong with him? He simply had OnStar with 4G LTE fever! LOL

I was thrilled that while we were at his soccer game, we were able to connect to social media and upload photos so that his grandparents and friends could see him in action!  We did all of this with the Wi-Fi from our Buick! That is right – you don’t have to be in the car to access it!  Between games we streamed movies too!  It was great!  Perfect for busy families on the go!  We were able to keep us all entertained during the down time.

Shelley and I then took the Buick LaCrosse on the open road. We went on a 9-hour drive to Charlotte, NC. We loved the way the Buick rode and the way it drove. It was simply one of the most comfortable cars I have ever been in. However, that was not the best feature! We used the Turn-by-Turn Navigation the entire way and back on this trip! It was amazing!

I was able to BLOG all the way to Charlotte (while Shelley drove ;-). No concern that I was blogging and driving. I got so much done – that it was CRAZY! In fact, it made me reconsider life in the minivan and I can honestly say that I NEVER thought that would happen!

On our way home we decided to leave before our conference ended so we could surprise our boys and pick them up from school. We were making phenomenal time and had called our husbands to tell them we were for sure going to make it home to get them when WE HIT TRAFFIC. I don’t just mean a little traffic incident. We were in dead standstill traffic. There was a chemical spill on the interstate, and we spend the next 5 hours moving 2 miles. YES, you are reading this correctly.

The only thing that kept us sane was our OnStar 4G LTE. I got more done on the blog in the next 5 hours, was able to use OnStar to get some advice, look for alternative routes and collect information on the situation. Luckily, we were near my hometown so, I called my dad and after we finally moved those 2 miles (5 hours later) we got off the interstate took a back road and got on our way. It was insane but luckily, we had our awesome Buick LaCrosse with OnStar 4G LTE and it kept us sane (sort of).  Though we didn’t make it home in time to get the boys we were thankful to be safe and we were so happy that we were driving the Buick LaCrosse on our road trip.

Some of the features that the OnStar with 4G LTE includes:

1.  The built-in Wi-Fi hotspot supports up to 7 mobile devices
2.  You and your passengers can connect to the content they want and stay connected to what matters
3.  Built-in OnStar with 4G LTE provides a better in-vehicle experience than your smartphone
4.  Stronger signal means you have a reliable connection
5.  The built-in Wi-Fi hotspot is powered by your vehicle, so you’re not reliant on a mobile device battery
6.  It’s automatically on and ready to connect to your devices
7.  The most powerful OnStar connection ever, with built-in services such as Automatic Crash Response, Vehicle Diagnostics, Stolen Vehicle Assistance, Remote Door Unlock, plus in-vehicle Wi-Fi

We can testify that we were using 3 devices in the car at one time with no concern. We had amazing service the entire trip with only one, 5-minute no- service time in 9 hours on the way to Charlotte and a long 14 hours on the way home and that was driving through the mountains! You can learn more about the technology and how to get it at OnStar.

The OnStar Remote Link is Awesome! Monitor your Hotspot, Fuel, Remote Start and More!

One of the features that I enjoyed most was the OnStar RemoteLink® mobile app. I simply downloaded it and then was able to customize the hotspot name and password. I used it to unlock the car and start the car remotely. It was AWESOME! You could also use it if you get locked out of your car or can’t locate your vehicle in a parking lot too!

My son even used it the Wi-Fi to connect and use devices in and outside of the vehicle, play games online and stream videos. Most importantly I used it for work! We LOVE the OnStar 4G LTE and can’t say enough about it. My next vehicle will have it for sure!
