Easy Valentine’s Day Menu
Check out this Easy Valentine’s Day Menu. I recently shared with you 5 Ways To Make Your Children Feel Special on Valentine’s Day however when it comes to the sweetest day of the year, you simply can’t forget your significant other. When it comes to my husband there is no better way to show him how much I love him than with food. Truly the way to his heart is directly via his stomach. Seventeen years ago when we first got married we went out for Valentine’s Day. It was crowded, traffic was terrible and we paid way too much money. Though I somewhat enjoyed not cooking we vowed never to go out for Valentine’s Day again.
Not only did that decision save us a lot of money throughout the years, but it also gave me the opportunity to show my husband just how much he means to me via intimate dinners at home. I always create a Valentine’s Day Menu each year and write him a love letter to express how much he means to me. We don’t exchange expensive gifts or spend money dining out but instead we spend a quiet evening at home. Before our son was born we simply enjoyed the peace of the moment. Now that he is older (sniff, sniff) we are able to enjoy an uninterrupted dinner once again, though it may not be quiet it is still our Valentine’s Day Tradition.

Now, as I said this gives you the opportunity to write a love letter to your significant other. Words are so powerful when it comes to Valentine’s Day so selecting the perfect card each year is really important to me. I have been married for almost seventeen years and best friends with my husband for 24 years and during that time I have given and received a lot of cards. They are each very important to me. In fact I keep each and every card that my husband has sent to me in a container in my closet. Sometimes reading through those cards has given me strength on days when I needed it most.
During the past year and a half, we have endured my husbands job loss and my open heart surgery. We walked away from these two life changing experiences with a better marriage and closer relationship. This year for Valentine’s Day we have reason to celebrate! My husband has a new job (he was unemployed last year on Valentine’s Day) so when I went out to select the perfect card this year I knew it needed to be special and I wanted to express my heart to him.
Of course you can’t forget your children for Valentine’s Day (especially when they are dining with you). I chose this Star Wars themed card for my son this year and I know he will love it! It goes with his itty bitty’s too! Be sure to visit your local Hallmark store and pick up a card so you can #PutYourHeartToPaper
