This is my go-to for any roast when I am in a crunch or do not have many ingredients in my pantry. I know I will always have butter, salt and pepper on hand. All you need to do is put the roast in the bottom of the slow cooker. Season with salt and pepper well. Next place a stick of butter on top, place the lid on and let it slowly cook all day.
You can serve with gravy, or you can use to make this Crockpot Homemade Vegetable Soup. It is perfect for BBQ too! It is a great base recipe that you can adapt to use to make other recipes with when you have leftovers. I always use a big roast so that I will have leftovers.
Once the beef roast is done it will shred easily and then melt in your mouth. Serve with gravy for dinner. I like to add sides such as green beans, mashed potatoes, Sauteed Zucchini and Squash or Loaded Baked Sweet Potato.
