DIY Shell Necklace
This DIY Shell Necklace is perfect for kids to make! They will love making a memento from vacation or from shell collecting. Recently while we were on vacation at Gulf Shores, Alabama we collected shells from the beach. My children love to go down early in the morning and see what shells have washed up on shore. My youngest son found this shell that had a perfect hole already in the center and wanted to make it into a necklace. Now if your shell does not have a hole you can easily make one by gently drilling a small hole.
DIY Shell Necklace
To get started you just need a shell, yarn and scissors. You may possibly need a small drill and drill bit if needing to make a hole.
If you need to make a hole, lay out newspaper to collect the dust and gently drill a small hole. You will want to select a thick shell if possible because thinner shells may break.
Next measure out the yarn for how long you want the necklace to be and cut.
String the yarn through the hole and tie together.
Place around your neck or wrap up for a gift!
