Detox Plan - How to remove impurities from your body

I wanted to share with you the Detox Plan I have been following to rid my body of impurities and the Candida Yeast Overgrowth. I have been getting lots of requests to know specifically what I did to lose the 35 pounds, and this is the general plan that I followed.  I do want to preface that I am not a doctor and encourage you to consult with a doctor before starting any plan.

Detox Plan:

Here are the basic guidelines of the Detox Program.  It was a very thorough program.

  • Limit Calories around 1,000 for women and 1,200 for men.
  • Exercise Daily – I did 3-5 miles of walking a day
  • Sleep 8 hours a night
  • Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water a day.

Listed below are the foods that you can eat while on this detox plan.

Vegetables:

Artichokes, Alfalfa Sprouts, Asparagus, Avocado, Bamboo Spouts, Beets, Bok Choy, Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage (Red and Chinese), Carrots, Cauliflower, Celery, Chives, Cucumber, Eggplant, Garlic, Green Beans, Green Onions, Jicama, Lima Beans, Leek, Okra, Onion, Parsley, Parsnips, Pepper (Green and Red), Pimentos, Radish, Rhubarb, Rutabaga, Shallots, Snap Beans, Snow Peas, String Beans, Sprouts, Tomatillo, Tomatoes, Turnips, Water Chestnuts, Wheat Grass and Zucchini.

Greens:

Arugula, Beet Greens, Belgian Endive, Bib Lettuce, Boston Lettuce, Butter Lettuce, Cress, Collard Greens, Curly Endive, Red Endive, Escarole, Green Leaf, Iceberg, Kale, Mesclun, Mustard Greens, Oakleaf, Radicchio, Red Leaf, Romain, Spinach, Swiss Chard and Watercress.

Fruit:

Apples, Apricots, Bananas, Blackberries, Blueberries, Boysenberries, Cantaloupe, Cherries, Coconut Meat, Dates, Figs, Grapefruit, Grapes, Guava, Honeydew, Kiwi, Lemon, Limes, Mango, Melons, Mulberries, Nectarines, Oranges, Papaya, Peaches, Pears, Persimmon, Pineapple, Plums, Pomegranate, Raspberries, Strawberries, Tangelos, Tangerines and Watermelon.

Lean Meat:

Organic Poultry- Free Range:  Chicken, Turkey, Duck, Quail
Organic Fish- Wild Caught, not Farm Raised: Cod, Halibut, Mahi Mahi, Salmon, Sea Bass, Sole, Swordfish, Tilapia, Trout, Tuna
Organic Rabbit
Canned Fish – Water Packed Tuna

Lentils and Rice:

Brown Lentils, Red Lentils, Red Lentils, Basmati Rice, Brown Rice, Wild Rice

Dairy and Dairy Substitutes:

Organic Free-Range Eggs, Organic Butter, Coconut Milk

Oils:

Coconut Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Flaxseed Oil, Grapeseed Oil

Nutritional Shakes:

I could substitute a nutritional shake as well which I did (1) daily.  I mixed it with cold water.  It contained 8 billion units of friendly probiotics per serving for digestive health. Sugar free, lactose free, gluten free, no artificial sweeteners. Each serving provides 180 calories with 20 grams of protein and 5 grams of dietary fiber. The brand that I used is no longer on the market, but I would search for one that is similar to these requirements. The important thing is NO artificial sweeteners or sugar.

Nutritional Supplements:

I took the following:  flax seed oil, Vitamin D, Calcium, probiotic, multi-vitamin and a digestive enzyme – they must be gluten free and yeast free.

Day 1 – 6 – Eliminate Fruit and Eat from Food List

Day 7 – 8 – Eliminate all Fruit, Meat and Dairy and Eat from the Food List

Day 9 – 13 – Master Cleanse (Liquid Diet)

Day 14 – 15 – Eliminate all Fruit, Meat and Dairy and Eat from the Food List

Day 16 – 22 – Add Steamed Vegetables, Meat and approved Protein

Day 23 -28- Add ONE Fruit today (introduce a different fruit off the list daily)

Day 29 – 30- Eliminate all Meat and Dairy and Eat from the Food List

Day 31 – 33 – Master Cleanse (Liquid Diet)

Day 34 – 35 – Eliminate all Meat and Dairy and Eat from the Food List

Day 36+ – Eat CLEAN

I hope this helps answers your questions on what I ate.  This is a VERY strict program and I can honestly say there was NO cheating – not one bite.  Please read my other post about the cleanse as well as Candida Symptoms.

  1. Thanks for sharing this! I actually starting eating not so great when I started couponing a few months ago since all of the cheap stuff is processed. I’ve done the Metagenic UltraClear cleanse through my doctor.. probably about a year ago. I’m starting it again soon.

    So question for you… I do follow you blog but haven’t for very long. Do you focus on HBA items rather than food? How do you create a balance of saving money but buying quality food?

    1. Great question! Is the Metagenic UltraClear Cleanse a prescription?

      I am very strategic in my couponing. My hubby and son still eat “normal” and I use overage and managers specials to put Organic Foods in my grocery cart. I have a new class called Healthy Couponing and I plan to share more on that soon 🙂

      1. Yes it’s through my chiropractor. It sounds similar to yours but its a 10 day elimination diet with the ultraclear powder and some pre and probiotics. I’m going to extend mine so I continue the healthy eating.

        Sounds great… looking forward to it! The grocery stores here in new England are tough… not a ton of great sales or opportunities to use overage. (I get tickled pink when I get it at target… lol)

  2. I love your posts and follow you as often as I can. I’m interested to know more about the nutritional shakes you mention above. Can you be more specific to brand or guide me in to where I could find something like this? I’m starting a gluten-free, dairy-free, whole food dietary change and I will need some healthy protein shakes to help supplement. I’m used to the GNC products, but what I currently have will not work. Thank you.

    1. The Brand that I used at the time I originally wrote this is no longer available for purchase. However I have purchased from my Chiropractor a brand that is candida safe. I will look up the brand and info for you!

  3. I have never tried anything like this but am very interested. What does”master cleanse liquid diet” entail exactly and what is your detox “lemonade” recipe? I’m also curious about the nutritional shakes. I live in a very rural area so specialty items have to wait til I make it to the big city or I order on Amazon. Thanks!!

  4. First let me tell you how much I love your site. So much good information. I have fibromyalgia and the Candida is a problem for me. I would like to do the Candida detox plan, I just have a few questions if you could help me.
    1.detox water..is that completely different from the other detox ?
    2.when you say eat from the food list is that anything on the list that you gave us, except when you eliminate dairy, meat etc.?
    3.how much do you eat, do you eat the vegetables raw or cook them
    4.you almost mention eat a different fruit everyday on the 23rd day, do I just eat fruit for those five days or all the unless you say different in your plan?
    5.you mentioned on the last day if you haven’t lost the weight you desire to do a liquid fast for 3 days and then for 2 days…is the liquid fast the detox water or the master cleanse?
    6.When you say eat clean do you mind giving me a little more detail.
    7.The milk shake that mentioned could I get this from a health food store, as long as I told them what could not be in the shake?

    1. !. Detox Water is totally different however you can certainly drink it while you follow this plan.
      2. This is the food list. Follow it based on the guidelines for each day.
      3. You can eat the veggies raw or cooked. Just maintain the caloric intake suggested.
      4. On day 23 you add (1) fruit back each day. See if you have any kind of adverse reaction to each fruit instead of adding them all at one time. It is just 1 piece of fruit each day (not unlimited).
      5. It is the Master Cleanse
      6. Eat no gluten, limited dairy, no sugar. Avoid all processed foods. Eat from the outside of the grocery store.
      7. I would suggest a shake that has no gluten, artificial flavors, colors, whey. I have been using the Arbonne Shake lately myself.

  5. I want to try a diet like yours. Are there any cookbooks you recommend? What vitamins do you recommend? I have seen numerous doctors and I am running out of options. My doctors suggested a Low Fod Map Diet but that didn’t help me at all. This diet would be great but I want a guide to help me. So any books you can recommend or if you could say what you used to help you to guide you through that would be great. Thanks.
