Candy Easter Basket

This Candy Easter Basket is the perfect Easter Basket! Turn candy into the basket and then fill it up with treats! Your kids will flip!

If you have a candy fanatic or a movie fanatic at your house then this Candy Easter Basket with a Movie Theme is going to be a hit with your kids!  My son LOVES movies and this year I decided to think outside of the “basket” with his Easter Basket.  I picked up some of his favorite candy and then I used the candy to create a Easter “Candy” Basket for him.

When it came time to “fill” his basket I decided to come up with some items that would go along with a Movie Theme since the candy basket was made with movie style boxes of candy.  It was easy to make and best of all he will use the entire basket!  You can substitute any of your kids favorite candy to create.  It would be fun with peeps too!

Candy Easter Basket – Movie Theme

Supplies For the Basket:

  • 4 Boxes of Candy
  • Easter Grass
  • Cardboard
  • Glue Dots or Hot Glue Gun
  • Nerds Rope

Love this easy Easter Candy Basket. I made a Movie Theme with it!

Directions:

  • Measure the correct dimensions for the bottom of the basket out of cardboard and cut out (mine was 7 1/2 x 6 inches)
  • Glue the boxes to the board to create a “basket” – I used a lot of glue dots but a glue gun would work well
  • Fill with Easter Grass and add a variety of items
  • Movie Theme Suggestions:  DVD, Popcorn, Candy, Movie Gift Card, 3D Glasses
  • Attach the Nerds Rope as the Handle with tape or glue

Warning you can NOT pick the basket up by the handle 🙂

The cost for the Basket was $4.50.  Each box of candy was $1.00 and the Nerds Rope was $.50.  I had Easter Grass in my stockpile.

Inside the Basket:  I put in two bags of microwave popcorn which were from my stockpile.

I bought:

4, M&M’s for $1.00 – $1/2 Mars Easter Products, exp. 4/20/14 (RP 03/23/14 R) for $.49 each

3, Reese’s Eggs, Buy 2 Get 1 Free ($1.00) matched with Save $1.00 off three any Reese’s coupon ($1/3 Reese’s Product, exp. 4/20/14 (SS 02/23/14 R) with a final price of $1.00/3

Planes DVD, $19.99

My total for the basket was $28.00!  You could get a DVD for as little as $5.99 though!  Another idea is to pick up a Movie Theater Gift Card because right now you are earning 4X Fuel Perks through Easter.
