What is Disney Bounding

What is Disney Bounding? You may have heard of it, and you may have no clue! Disney Bounding is a growing trend, originated by Leslie Kay.

What is Disney Bounding:

It can have a broad definition, but it refers to wearing outfits that are inspired by Disney characters, in your everyday lives. It’s sort of like cosplay (the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game) but way more casual and designed to be comfortable while at the parks!

So, it is basically showing your love for Disney by dressing up but not in a costume (costumes are not allowed at Disney except at the Halloween Parties) and just wearing clothes that “look like” the character by wearing colors of clothes from your wardrobe. I hope this helps!

My daughter and I dabbled in some Disney Bounding and we both had a blast! She motivated me to do it. I kind of thought people would think I was too old. But the good news is, you are never too old to Disney Bound!

Here she is as The Little Mermaid. Her bell bottom jeans represent “her fins” and she chose a purple top and Little Mermaid ears. It is subtle but you can definitely see others who are Disney Bounding. A lot of people complemented her on this day.

Next, she was Minnie Mouse. I absolutely loved this one. Though it is a common to see Mickey and Minnie, I thought she did a great job with details. She chose red shorts, black top and traditional Minnie Ears. She added yellow inexpensive shoes that she ordered on Amazon. This was comfy and she enjoyed all the people commenting to her about how cute she was.

This was my personal favorite. She chose to dress as Cinderella. This was the day we boarded the Disney Dream and the backdrop for her choice couldn’t have been any more perfect. Again, wearing the bell bottoms to mimic her skirt. She paired it with a flannel shirt over a blue t-shirt and white tennis shoes as her “slippers”. Again, It is all about being comfortable and using what you have.

And finally, here I am! I chose to Disney Bound as my favorite princess! Snow White! This was actually a lot of fun, and I received a lot of compliments on my outfit. I purchased a yellow skort, wore red shoes, and borrowed this red headband from a friend. I added a blue top that I already had in my closet. ALL of the characters loved it! Donald in particular went crazy for it. I would say it was a success!
