*** Update – We use reusable bags as much as possible but still receive plastic bags at different stores. This is a way we can keep from just throwing them straight in the trash.

Repurpose Wipes Containers for Plastic Bags

We repurpose wipes containers for plastic bags because everywhere you go they give them to you. I love being able to repurpose or recycle an item for another use!  We have SO many plastic grocery bags that were overflowing out of our cloth bag holder that I decided to put an empty wipes container to good use.  I am keeping the container in the garage and we are going to use the plastic bags this summer when we collect vegetables from our garden.  This is a free holder that would have otherwise been recycled.  If you are looking for a way to keep your plastic grocery sacks organized you might find this tip useful!  Shelley carries one of these in her car with her.  You never know when you can use one of these plastic bags.  We also reuse the plastic bags as much as possible. While we are not a fan of plastic bags, we are a fan of repurposing as much as possible.

This is a great Earth Day project!  You can teach your children how we can make a difference on our carbon footprint by recycling and repurposing items that would have been discarded.  I don’t normally bring home plastic bags but when I do I want to be sure they have another purpose.
