Red River Gorge Getaway
We are home from an amazing Red River Gorge Getaway. If you have never been to Red River Gorge, KY you are missing out. This is my new favorite.
Cliffview Retreat:
We spent two nights at the Cliffview Retreat Luxury Cabin. The only regret that we have is that we didn’t stay longer. The Retreat was the perfect destination for our friends and family. Cliffview’s luxury cabins provide a rustic setting with all the modern conveniences for large group getaways.
The cabin was so comfortable with built in entertainment. All we needed was our food, bathing suits, hiking shoes and a good book and we were set. Seriously everything was included.
The cabin sleeps 48. Yes, you read that correctly. It had 11 bedrooms (10 with private bath). Ten of those had a king size bed and one had a double queen bunk. Each room includes a futon bed and HDTV. There was a 1/2 bath and a full-size bath available in addition to those attached to the rooms.
The cabin features a fully stocked kitchen with dining space for 26. We loved the large counter space as it provided us a place to cook together. The cabin has 2 refrigerators, 2 stoves and 3 microwaves. We had plenty of storage space for all of our groceries and to enjoy our meals.
There are 2 super-sized hot tubs which were perfect to soak and relax in after a long hike. The boys took over one while the girls sat in another.
There is also a game room with a second living space. Our kids loved the foosball and pool tables. This provided lots of space for conversation and space for playing card and board games.
We really enjoyed all the community living spaces. The cabin features handcrafted log and leather furniture with 2 pull out beds. The lower level living room has a beautiful electric stone fireplace which would be perfect to enjoy in the winter.
One of my favorite spots was the spacious outdoor decks. They have two decks and we enjoyed relaxing and soaking in nature from them. I sat out every morning and read and listened to the birds. We saw several deer and fawn too! The upper deck is a great location for yoga.
There is a gas grill conveniently located to the kitchen on one of the decks. They even provided the propane for the tank. There are picnic tables, benches, and gliders for you to enjoy playing games, eating or just hanging out.
There is a beautiful space outside where you could have an intimate wedding or take family pictures. We really enjoyed this space and watching the wildlife from the deck.
We also enjoyed the firepit. They even provided the wood for us to use. We made S’mores and even lit some sparklers since it was so close to the 4th of July.
There is also a lower level theater room. We had a fun movie night where we popped popcorn and ate movie theater candy. I liked that the 2nd refrigerator and 3rd microwave is on the lower level as it was convenient to use. There is plenty of space for playing games too.
They have a washer and dryer so there is no need to overpack when you come to the Retreat. You can even wash all your clothes and take them home clean which is a great tip that normally do when I go on vacation.
There is a sister cabin called Lakeside that is convenient if you have a larger party that one cabin will not hold or want to extend your group to many. I am hoping to stay in it next time we visit RRG. I think a fall trip would be perfect.
The Cliffview Retreat Cabin was the perfect destination for a socially distanced trip. We had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy. It would make for a great location for a family reunion, multi-generational trip, or vacation.

I know right! I wish we could have invited others to join us but with Covid we kept it intimate. It would be the perfect backdrop for a wedding.
