Can you freeze soup?
Can you freeze soup? Yes, you can! In fact, it is one of my favorite go-to meals for freezer cooking. Here are some tips for freezing soup.
Can you freeze soup?
- Always cool soup before freezing it. After the soup is cool, place it in an airtight container. You need to leave around 1 inch of head space for expansion.
- Do not freeze pasta in soups. You can always place the pasta in the soup just before serving instead. If you want to freeze pasta, make sure it is al dente.
- Cream Soups don’t freeze as well as soups with a broth base after they are frozen.
- Consider using a storage bag and lie it flat to freeze. It takes much less freezer room!
Some of my favorite soup recipes:
Chicken Sausage Gumbo
Tuscan Chili
Rotel Taco Soup
Tortellini Soup
Ham and Potato Soup
Easy White Chicken Chili
Homemade Potato Soup
