Keto Slow Cooker Pot Roast Recipe
This Keto Slow Cooker Pot Roast Recipe is my go to recipe when making a pot roast for my family. It is a recipe that is embedded in my memory and I do not have to look anything up and most of the time I have all the ingredients on hand. Some people always ask why I place butter on top of my meats when I cook them. Well adding butter helps tenderize the meat and give it good flavor. It is just my personal preference so if you want to skip on the butter you certainly can. It is a great way to add healthy fat too if you are eating a high fat low carb diet.
I have been making this recipe a long time, even before I met my husband. I love how easy it is to make and that it makes a complete crockpot dinner for my family. I like to serve Cauliflower Mashed Potatoes with the Crockpot Pot Roast Recipe which makes me happy, because sometimes I throw potatoes in the pot roast for my family, but I do not eat them when I am eating Keto.
Be sure to try this slow cooker recipe soon, you will not be disappointed! This recipe is included in our popular Beginner Keto Meal Plan. Keto Slow Cooker Pot Roast Recipe is so easy and the low carb leftovers are perfect to take to work the next day!

Are there any other vegetables that you would consider adding? I am not a big celery fan, and a Roast with only carrots and onions sounds a little boring.
How about parsnips? leeks? fennel?
I used portobello mushrooms for added flavor and cauliflower and bokchoy to have more to eat. All keto.
How about rutabaga, kohlrabi, parsnip?
Great options!

The best pot roast I have ever made thought it would be dry because of lack of fluids in recipe. Wrong again came out with plenty of juice don’t be afraid to try this one.
Same!!! Could we add something extra that is included in keto diet??
Yes, for sure!!!
You could try and add some Squash!
One of my favorites is radishes in place of potatoes. The cooking time is very similar so I think they would work well in this crockpot roast recipie.
I use radishes too and love them in this slow cooker recipe!
Yes! Great idea! I love to roast radishes too!
EXCELLENT meat came out so moist. Added sliced zucchini and string beans. Smelt and tasted amazing
Awesome! Great addition!

Do you have the nutritional info on this recipe? Specifically
carb count?
This is simply one of the best pot roast I’ve ever had. I originally picked this because it was a simple recipe and I didn’t expect it to be all that good. Boy was I surprised.
I only made two small adjustments to the recipe above. The first was I added salt during the cooking process. And second I added a little bit more garlic and celery. The reason I added more is because I ended up cooking an 8lb roast.
This is a great recipe thank you so much for sharing!
That is awesome! Thanks!
Tried this two days ago and came out fantastic. Next time I am going to add two more onions and raw mushrooms. Moist but the onion completely dissolved to juice, and I think some bella mushrooms will add some flavor.
THIS was DELICIOUS! The entire roast is gone! Definitely will make this over and over. Thank you!
You don’t add any liquid other than the Worcestershire sauce? You don’t add any water or anything to the slow cooker?
No other liquid needed but feel free to add some water if you desire.
Was skeptical given this recipes simplicity….. When it was done, roast was fall apart tender, juicy, and flavorful!! I actually prepared it the night before and pulled it out of the fridge the next morning and started it…. Used carrots, green beans, celery, onion, and one can of diced S&W tomatoes with green chili for flavor. Also sprinkled some kosher salt before cooking…. Will definitely use this one again and again…..
My husband and I have been trying to stick to keto/low carb diet but get bored so easily. This was PERFECT to change up our usual menu. My husband is obsessed!
What are the macros for a servin of this? Smells good right now
I am not sure.
Any idea how long you would cook this for in an instant pot?
I have no idea! I wish there was a simple equation to turning slow cooker recipes into Instant Pot recipes.
Do you brown the meat prior to putting it in the crock pot?
No, you don’t.
New to keto. How do we calculate the nutritional value of this meal?
Used coconut aminos, pearl onions, few carrots. This was excellent!
Hi. Do you think it would work to sub bottom round roast for the chuck roast?
I think that would be fine!
I came across this and will need to try this. I actually have a roast to use but it’s smaller – 2.25 lbs.
I figure it’ll need less time just not sure how much less. Any suggestions?
What size is your slow cooker? A 4 qt would be perfect and then you can cook for a little less time. I would say 4-6 hours on low and test with a thermometer to be sure it is done.
So easy to make. A little bland, but a sprinkle of salt on my bowl took care of that. Added sliced mushrooms on top before securing the lid. Next time i might consider adding a packet of lipton onion soup mix on top of the roast to give more flavor. Thanks for the great recipe!
How would I use this in a pressure cooker?
I am not sure!
