How to make your own slushy magic

Did you know you can make your own slushy magic?  Yes, you can! I decided to figure out how to make my own slushy magic. I have a hard time justifying spending $14.99.

Peyton wants to have a Slushy Magic Party this summer so I knew that at $14.99 that was not going to be possible. I decided to give making my own a try and we were thrilled with the results.

In fact we were able to make a huge bag full of slushy magic for pennies! All we needed was gallon size ziploc bag and a sandwich bag ziploc bag, water and salt. In the small bag I took 1/4 cup salt and hot water and mixed together then I placed the bag in the freezer and froze it solid.

After it froze solid we added the small bag to an empty gallon size Ziploc bag and then added the liquid of our choice.  Fill it almost full but leave a little space so it can “slush”.  We shook the large bag with small bag inside for 5 minutes.  Then we removed the small bag from the large one and had SLUSHIES.  My son loves our DIY Slushy Magic 🙂  I do too and the price is hard to beat!

After the process this is what the small frozen bag looked like – then we re-froze it and did it again!

So there you have it!  Perfect for Summer!  We loved the results!  We have used all kinds of fruit juices, lemonade, milk  and they all work great!

    1. I just filled the small ziploc bag with water and then froze it. It was almost full.

    1. Any liquid you want! Kool-Aid, Juice, Milk, Lemonade 🙂 I would go with anything non carbonated.
