How to cook Ground Beef in your Crockpot
How to cook Ground Beef in your Crockpot is so easy and will most likely be the only way I will make it from now on! This is a great way to cook your ground beef if you are planning/making freezer meals. Or if you have a large quantity of ground beef and it needs to be used or frozen before going bad. All you need is your slow cooker and the ground beef. If you want to season the beef you may do so, but I did not because I was freezing my beef into smaller portions for future recipes.
Place your ground beef in the bottom of your crockpot and make sure it is chopped up. I had four pounds in my slow cooker. Cook on low for 3 – 4 hours. Drain any grease you may have from the crockpot and stir the meat well. Place the lid back on and cook on low for another 2-3 hours. Your ground beef should be cooked and all you need to do is drain the beef, wait for it to cool down a bit. I waited 20 minutes, then placed in labeled Ziploc bags and then into the freezer they went. You can also use the beef right away in a recipe also!
This method is also great when you are camping or don’t have a working stove.
