Sugar Cornbread

With a a touch of sweetness this Sugar Cornbread is easy to make with a box of Jiffy Cornbread Mix!

Sugar Cornbread is an easy bread recipe that has been handed down for many years in my family. All you need is a few ingredients including a box of Jiffy mix and sugar. My oldest son absolutely loves corn bread. In fact when he was little he wanted it so much we gave him the nickname Cornbread.  This is an easy modification that you can make to the regular box instructions. Trust me you will be glad you tried this one. Everyone thinks this recipe is from scratch when really it is a box mix that I doctor up.

Simply preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Grease an 8″ round pan.  Blend together Jiffy mix, egg and milk in medium size bowl, batter will be slightly lumpy. Let the mixture sit for 3 minutes. Re stir the mixture and pour into pan. Sprinkle sugar over the batter. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Let cool for 2 minutes and then serve.  You can also make this into muffins if you like.  Simply grease your muffin tins well and pour batter in and bake for 15 minutes or until done.

I like to serve Sugar Cornbread when I make Crockpot Chicken Soup.  Give this twist on the traditional box mix a try.  Trust me you won’t be disappointed.  I make this easily 2-3 nights a week for my family of 5.  They all love it!  It is out of this world delicious.   I hope you enjoy this quick and easy Sugar Cornbread as much as my family does!  It is soon to be a family favorite.
