Old Fashioned Homemade Egg Nog
Old Fashioned Homemade Egg Nog recipe is simply delicious and super easy to make! We love to enjoy this special drink at Christmas time.
After seeing the ingredients listed on the half gallon from the store. I decided this would be simple to make at home. So I researched a few recipes, made some tweaks to create the perfect recipe and this is by far his favorite. He says it has a lot of flavor and reminds him of when his grandmother made it when he was a child.
You only need a handful of ingredients and spices to make this creamy beverage. I had all the spices and all the ingredients in my kitchen, so I was able to make this quickly. It really does taste best if you make the Egg Nog and let it sit in the fridge overnight, to let the flavors really meld. Be sure to drink it up quickly though because it only has a shelf life of about two days. It always reminds me of Christmas Vacation when I make it so we have to watch it of course. You know, can I refill your eggnog…get you something to eat…drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead? Be sure to enjoy a cold glass this Christmas season of Old Fashioned Homemade Egg Nog!

You don’t have to cook this at all? Raw eggs???
You don’t! Crazy huh?
Raw eggs are dangerous when you are gettingg conventional store bought eggs. Look for cage free – or best yet, a farmer who sells pasture raised chicken eggs. Much safer. This recipe looks fabulous. I like the maple syrup substitute for sugar. What do you do like to do with all the whites?
Use them for an omelet or meringue.
You can freeze egg whites, although I am not sure they can be kept for. I use them usually within 1 month.
