Here is the recipe – so easy to make! Just be sure to store it in an airtight container. Every Tuesday is “Taco Tuesday” at our house so this comes in handy. You can substitute 1/4 cup of this mixture for 1 packet of store bought Taco Seasoning.

Can’t wait to try this — and the yummy taco recipes!
Thanks for this recipe. Not only will this save a lot of money, but you also have the added benefit of being able to control the amount of salt. I’m sure the prepackaged seasoning has a ton of salt.
I love this and can’t wait to give it a try. This will save money on the packaged stuff, it will allow me to use my spices… and it is healthier! This is the perfect combination for my family. Thank you so much for sharing… recipe printing as I type.
Awesome! Thanks, this is going on my Pinterest.

How do you use this in place of a packet? Do you still boil the water and add it? I’m excited about the recipe but feel like it needs better instructions for use in recipes.
You use it just as you would packaged taco seasoning.
I tried this tonite, browned up the hamburger and mixed it right in. Tasted good, all kids ate it up. For taste may want to add little more salt / or mix in some hamburger seasoning, its pretty mild unless you add more pepper but thats what sauce is for.
I highly suggest this How To Make Your Own Taco Seasoning recipe.
Very happy to find this, thank you!
So I thought I’d be smart, & buy a pouch of each, after dumping 3 of the packages together, I noticed that each spice was a different weight.
Could you please tell me if equals parts is to mean 1/2 cup of each, or whatever size one chooses to use. Or equal amounts in weight?
Thank you for your time in this matter 🙂
Equal amounts like 1/2 cup is perfect!
