How to Clean Your Top Loading Washing Machine with one simple ingredient! Yes, all you need is white vinegar, and your washing machine will be sparkling clean and smell amazing. You can even use lemon juice in place of white vinegar if you desire. I prefer using the white vinegar.
How to Clean Your Top Loading Washing Machine:
All you need to do is pour 2 cups of vinegar in your washing machine and then run it through a cycle on the hottest setting your machine has. This will help remove string odors, stains and detergent build up that you may have. Doesn’t get much easier than this! I like to do this to my Top Loading Washing Machine every 3-4 months to keep the build up down.

Vinegar has so many wonderful household uses. I haven’t heard of this one before. Can’t wait to try it.
Finally printed so now I can remember to do this. Thanks so much for this simple tip!
I use about a half a cup of white vinegar in my rinse cycle every time I do a load.
Keeps my clothes fresh and never dingy. I feel it takes any detergent residue out too.
No worry about smell of vinegar because when clothes dry it takes that smell out too.
Just adding my 2 cents here 🙂
I was reading tonight how to clean a front loader. Omg it was a major under taking. This woman was cleaning the tubes where the hoses go to the washer.. She was talking about things I never thought you should take apart. She also used bleach. I mean bleach kills germs and bacteria. I won’t argue that, but it is bad for the planet, animals, and bad for us to inhale. It can cause respiratory problems. If you have asthma even worse.
