Candy Cane Ornament

This Candy Cane Ornament one of the easiest crafts you can make with your kids.

This Candy Cane Ornament one of the easiest crafts you can make with your kids.  My son made his first Candy Cane Ornament at only 3 years old (with supervision of course).  I first made these with my Mom as a child and now I pass the tradition onto my son.  They make a great craft for Christmas parties!  I would suggest by age 5 that children could easily make this on their own.  Best of all you can make them for very little cost.  You can purchase the beads in bulk at your local craft store and pipe cleaners at the dollar store.

I found the beads online at Amazon.com – You are looking for Plastic Transparent Tri Beads.  They are really inexpensive.  I found a pack of 1000 beads for $7.99 which included free shipping on Amazon Prime.

Candy Cane Ornament:

Supplies:

  • White Pipe cleaner
  • Red Craft Beads – Tri Beads
  • White or Clear Craft Beads –  Tri Beads
  • String for hanging (you can use thread)

Directions:

Cut a white pipe cleaner in half. String two white craft beads, two red craft beads and repeat.  Fold over the end of the pipe cleaner when it is filled and bend to shape a candy cane.  Add a string to hang on your Christmas tree or to decorate packages.

If you are looking for an inexpensive craft project for a Christmas party this is it!  Christmas Candy Canes are so easy to make and cost very little from your budget.

  1. I made the candy cane ornaments several years ago and added to the bows on the packages. They were a cute addition.
