Shortcut Cinnamon Rolls
Check out these Shortcut Cinnamon Rolls. Did you know you can take plain canned cinnamon rolls and turn them into something special with just a few pantry ingredients?
They are a fun and delicious breakfast treat for you and the kids on a school morning or to set out on the table on a lazy Sunday. These three are our current favorites for fall but I have given you some additional ideas to get you started.
Be creative and dress up your cinnamon rolls with whatever fruit, nuts, extracts, and seasonings you have in your kitchen to find your family favorite. Whether you enjoy them with a steaming mug of coffee or a glass of milk these fun ideas are sure to please the whole family.
Shortcut Cinnamon Rolls
Pumpkin Spice
Stir 1 Tbsp. pumpkin puree, 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice into icing.
After baking allow to cool partial, spread or drizzle icing on rolls, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
Apple Cinnamon
Dice ½ an apple and press into tops of rolls before baking.
Stir 1 tsp. cinnamon into icing, allow to cool and spread on top
Maple Walnut
Prior to baking stick walnut pieces into tops of rolls.
Add 1-2 tsp. maple syrup to icing, after cinnamon rolls cool -drizzle with maple icing.
Some additional flavor ideas to try:
Cinnamon Latte
Stir ½ tsp. instant coffee granules or coffee extract into icing.
Sprinkle with additional cinnamon.
Orange Almond
Push into tops with almonds, stir 1 tsp. orange extract into icing.
Chocolate Chip
Push into tops with chocolate Chips before baking.
Caramel Apple
Stick chopped pieces of apple into tops before baking.
Drizzle with caramel sauce after baking.
The best thing is these delicious shortcuts take very little time and your family will “never” figure out your secret! I made these for my family, and they thought I spent hours making them from scratch 🙂
